Nilo – The SPA Industry, the company in the Maletti Group which produces furnishings for beauty centres, wellbeing centres and spas, will be displaying some of the most prestigious pieces of its collections at SPA Design, the show organised at Superstudio 13 as part of the Design Week Fuori Salone.
The first, and in many respects, still the only company in the sector to have appointed important designers to create their own collections, at SPA Design Nilo presents a massage bed and a series of coordinated service trolleys from the Le Essenze collection, designed by Claudio Silvestrin. Set in the Luxury SPA Module installation by the firm Peia e Associati, Silvestrin’s furnishings stand out for their clean, lean lines and their careful eye for ergonomics and functionality which have made them such an extraordinary commercial success, installed in some of the most prestigious hotels, SPAs and private homes around the world.
The Glamour collection, by Christophe Pillet, will be included in the Fruit SPA and Lounge installation by architect d’Agostino. Shown here in white, Pillet’s multipurpose chair is an exercise in sophisticated style which has reduced size to a minimum, to create this surprising result: a multipurpose chair with a technical, yet elegant and refined appearance, which improves ergonomics for both client and operator. The Glamour chair is shown here in white together with the stool (Downtown) and the service trolley (Galaxy) which are part of the same collection created by Christophe Pillet for Nilo.
Bearing witness to the increasing integration between wellbeing and beauty, the Peia installation also hosts a small but elegant cutting area composed of the Caadre mirror - designed by Philippe Starck and produced by Fiamm for Maletti – and the Modern chair, also designed by Philippe Starck for Maletti. Two great classics, two icon products which, with their timeless elegance, have found their place in the most famous salons around the world.
But Superstudio13 is not the only place you will find the Maletti Group in this Milan Design Week. In collaboration with Franco Curletto, one of the greatest names in international hairstyling, Maletti is organising a celebration of the hairstyling salon as a place that is becoming increasingly rich in architectural and design contents. Franco Curletto’s Milan salon (viale Pasubio, 12 –Marò) has been fully furnished with elements from the Organic Dreams collection, designed by Ross Lovegrove for Maletti.
The Maletti Group history is now 75 years long, and in addition to the important functional innovations introduced by the company, it was also the first to bring design into the beauty and wellbeing sectors, with its collections signed by Philippe Starck, Claudio Silvestrin, Christophe Pillet and Ross Lovegrove, but also Didier Gomez, Borek Sipek and others besides. A winning choice – confirmed once again also by the new prestigious collaborations it has recently started – which has placed the company from Scandiano (RE) in an undisputed world leadership position in its markets.
A group which covers four separate companies – Maletti, PresenceParis, Nilo and Uki – which therefore hold an authoritative position in the markets for salon furniture, wellbeing centre and spa furnishings as well as professional accessories (UKI), also the result of important collaborations with great names in the international design world, from Lovegrove to Gomez and others besides.
